So I’ve been a bit busy and I’m actually heading out to film tomorrow so I can’t write for long.

I’ll save the vids for last.

New Job

First off I am now a home carer for Glasgow Council. It is the PERFECT job for me right now. It’s 20hours a week, but I’m starting to grab overtime here and there. What ACTUALLY happens is I work 40 hours in 1 week and then get a whole week off!! 40 hours in 1 week = 20 hours in 2 weeks making it a 20hr a week contract.

It’s a good job! Yeah, the money is good and I get a WHOLE week off for freedom to write AND film. However, at the end of the day, I feel like I’ve made a difference to peoples’ lives and that’s something money can’t buy!

New Projects

So with some freed up time, why has it take me so long to blog? Well I’ve been putting that time to good use. I’ve written up some scripts; I’m still working on that pilot deal - yeah, my co-writer is dragging his feet a little to say the least - and I have a bunch of good mates and we’re going to try and set up an ACTUAL film company. We have the name and I’m already working on the website.

Yes, up until now we’ve only done Stargate fan films, and the next 5/6/7 projects are all fan vids based on that. HOWEVER, if you watch our vids you will notice that with each one we are starting to gel and I’m getting my act together as a director!!

As dumb as this sounds I’ve noticed a real boost in my confidence by filming myself and having it online. I NEVER want to be an actor but as you’ll see in one of my recent videos - holy crap I came out of my shell a little there! Also, my acting has actually improved! I CANNOT watch SGC (our first vids) at all. I was so god awful and the direction was full of mistakes - circle of confusion, anyone???? However, with Boys’ Day Off and the Favourite Lines vid - I think there IS improvement. Now I’ll NEVER be a real actor but improvement makes it less sucky.

We’re hoping to gain some fans and make work good enough to be used as evidence of our competency one day. Once we get a proper company set up we can get grants for a proper camera and the rest is just finding students who’ll work for nothing ;). When that happens, you’ll never have to see my ugly mug in our vids again :D.

How GREAT is Fraggle Dragon? I’m glad we have 1 actress amongst us. You can see Jules in the giant mirror but that couldn’t really be gotten around so it’s not bad direction; it’s lack of options ;)



If that wasn’t enough - I made bloopers for both. The bloopers on the Favourite Lines vid have taken over the popularity of the actual video itself!!! WTF? Fraggle Dragon thinks it’s the little jig I do at the start, but I tend to think people just like seeing me lose it at MYSELF!!! :P
